First line ...

Pick up the current book that you're reading and let me know the first line.

I just finished
Accidental Happiness, by Jean Reynolds Page (and I really enjoyed it, but I'll save the review for another time) and the first line is crazy:

"On the night I shot Angel, everything in my life changed -- again."

  1. "Iused to think thatRedBull was the ost destructive invention of the past 50 years."

From "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell". Don't ask. I picked it up at the airport because some guy was holding it and laughing..

  2. wow! major typos.
Remove 'thatRedBull' and insert 'that Red Bull'.

    Remove 'ost' and insert 'most'.

That's what I get for not proof reading.

    The Blind Side.

I am not a huge sports person, but this is a feel good book. Besides, the movie is coming out soon. Looks cute.

  5. Dear American Airlines, My name is Benjamin R. Ford and I am writing to request a refund in the amount of $392.68. But then, no, scratch that: Request is too mincy & polite, I think, too officious & Britishy, a word that walks along the page with the ramrod straightness of someone trying to balance a walnut on his upper ass cheeks.

From Dear American Airlines by Jonathan Miles

I had to include the second sentence too since it's much more interesting. :-)
